This was informed to the media here on Thursday by outgoing Mayor Sandesh Swamy.
“Taking cognisance of the issue much before only, the local body had prepared a project estimated ` five crore to delink the existing sewage lines, but to no avail as the corporation awaits clearance”, bemoaned mayor.
The work has been undertaken under CM’s special grant of `100 crore in second phase, that is still far from a reality, alleged mayor wondering what has blocked the release of the grant.
Of the grant announced in first phase only ` 70 crore was released and various works were taken up.
When the issue was brought to the notice of Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa during the recent progress review meeting of the district presided over by him (CM), he instructed Medical Education and District In-charge Minister S A Ramdas to look into the same.
It’s already over a week for the meeting, the minister is yet to take stock of the matter, alleged mayor holding the district-in-charge minister responsible for the inordinate delay, on the matter.
