The Maharaja’s college has contributed immensely to the educational, art and cultural sector of the state. He  was happy to learn that there are many rural talents who have made their mark in the field of literature, art and folk culture of the state,” and added that he would wish that he shoots his next movie amidst the students if the college management allowed for it.

On the request of students, Puneeth also sang a song for them from the hit number Shiva Antha Hoguthidde Roadinalli... from  his run away flick- Jackie and another from ‘Mylari’. Students responded in a rather euphoric way and tapped their foot for the hit tunes.

Police prevented a student who had tonsured his head and coloured it with the writing Appu. However, Puneeth asked police to allow him to come to stage. The youth turned ecstatic shaking hands with the actor.  Former vice-chancellor of University of Mysore Prof S N Hegde, Principal Sa Na Gayathri, Administrator of the college Latha K Biddappa and others were present.
