NICE should pay farmers more: BSY

Although the government was committed to building the project which includes expressways and townships as per the MoU singed between the NICE (Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises) and the State government, it wanted the company to pay higher compensation, the CM told reporters here.

When his attention was drawn to reports that the NICE has rejected revision of compensation, the chief minister said the government would not go back on its latest Cabinet decision on higher compensation.

In an oblique reference to the violence that broke out between farmers and government authorities on the issue of acquiring farm land for Yamuna Expressway Project in Noida and Agra, the CM said, “we have to take note of all recent developments taking place in the country over land acquisition.”
