Nagara Panchami celebrations held with great fervour

Special prayers were held at Balasubramanya temple, Rambhapuri Peeta, Markandeshwara, Anjaneya temple, Renukanagar Ganapathy temple and various other temples. Since the day fell on a Sunday, a large number of devotees thronged the temples. Sweet dishes were prepared for the festival at every household. Rambhapuri Peeta Seer Veerasomeshwara Swamiji formally started the Nagara panchami celebration by pouring milk on the stone idols of Snake gods.

Shravana month is said to be the month of festivals as there lies a lining of festivals to be celebrated ahead. Starting of Nagara Panchami, the month has Mahalakshmi Vratha, Raksha Bandhan, Gauri-Ganesh festival are some of the other festivals.
