The deceased has been identified as Shanthappa Rai (45), a resident of Manjigere village in Kanbail. Police sources said that Rai was murdered by slitting on his body using sharp weapon when Rai was returning home on his motorbike. However, the reason behind the murder has not been established, sources said.
Superintendent of Police Shivaprasad visited the spot.
