According to police, six youths had gone to the outskirts of the village for a drinking gettogether. Soon, after consuming liquor, they took ill. A passerby saw the youths writhing in pain and immediately shifted them to a hospital. But five of them were dead on arrival.
The condition of one is critical and he is admitted to a hospital. The dead young men are Mahesh, Soma, Chetana, Purushottam and Sudarshan. Sanju is battling for life in the hospital. More details are awaited. Senior police officials have rushed to the village.
The cause of death will be known only after the postmortem on Monday.
