“I met prime minister. He is concerned about what is going on in the villages in Greater Noida. The farmers wanted to meet prime minister and I facilitated it,” Rahul Gandhi said.
Gandhi further said that the situation in Greater Noida is “still pretty bad” where “people have been killed and women raped”. The Gandhi scion said, the prime minister “listened quiet patiently”.

Asked about the Land Acquisition Act, the Congress MP from Amethi (UP) said: “We are committed to Land Acquisition Act. It is a complicated issue. We are confident that the Land Acquisition bill will be passed in the next session of Parliament.”

Monday’s press briefing by the Gandhi scion on farmers’ issue held outside prime minister’s residence at 7 Race Course Road is being seen as election bugle for Rahul Gandhi’s Mission 2012 in Uttar Pradesh.

The delegation of farmers, who came with Rahul Gandhi also gave a memorandum to prime minister stating the alleged forcible acquisition of land by Uttar Pradesh government and the atrocities incurred by the police.
