On Monday, a large number of his admirers comprising his students, friends and his readers thronged his Jayalakshmipuram residence to pay their last respects. Writers C P Krishna Kumar, Prof Akbar Ali , Lok Sabha member A H Vishwanath and others visited.
Talking to reporters, Vishwanath said Sujana’s death was a great loss to the literary world in the state. His contribution to Kannada literature is immense, even the writer remained humble throughout his life.
Sujana was a good friend to former chief minister late D Devaraja Urs. Many a times Urs sought his opinions and suggestions on important issues.
He did not accept government’s offer for MLC post thrice. He always remained averse to awards and positions, he recalled.
