Komet sets up innovation and R&D facility in City

The facility, spread over 88,000 square feet (sq.ft) is designed to house the latest manufacturing technologies in precision engineering, set in a world class environment complying with stringent international standards, the company said. The new facility comprises of a dedicated training centre to impart specialist training to customers, a tech-centre where precision parts can be machined in the prototype stage, enabling process establishment before the tool is delivered to the customer.

Tech centre

It is about delivering the edge, and the tech centre in Bangalore along with a wealth of seasoned intellectual capital, positions Komet India to meet the emerging demand for precision engineered tools worldwide.”

Komet India is a specialist in offering highly productive tailor-made solutions for manufacture of high-precision components in the areas of metal working, the company claimed. It specialises in developing innovative designs and machined solutions for complex machine parts with applications ranging from Automotive and Aviation to Nuclear Power plants.

Komet India is among the few players in the segment with a capability to deliver end-to-end solutions in internal machining.


Setting standard

 “To put it simply, we just raised the standard of innovation a notch higher” Komet India Managing Director S Ravishankar said, adding “true value to the customer is when we can catalyse higher productivity. This we can achieve from our new facility by ensuring minimum down time or time to set up. We are truly proud to take this to our clients both from India and globally.”

The estimated market size of precision cutting tool industry is approximately Rs 1,000 crore. Of this, about Rs 300 crore is the size of the basket for Komet range of Tools. The company currently has a sizable share of this range and is on the growth path to emerge a market leader in the segment.
