JOIN USPolice said Srinivas was married to Shobha and couple had two children. Under financial stress, Srinivas had of late took to drinking, leading to frequent fights between the couple.
On Sunday evening, Srinivas came home in an inebriated condition, went inside a room and locked it from inside.
Shobha grew concerned when her husband did not emerge from the room even late at night.
After knocking on the door proved futile, with help from a few neighbours, she had the door broke open, only to find Srinivas hanging from a ceiling fan using Shoba’s saree, added the police.
Advocate thrashed
An advocate sustained severe injuries as his colleagues allegedly attacked him over campaigning for the elections to the Bar Council, at the City Civil Court complex on Monday.
It is said C Kumar was assaulted by a group of advocates supporting Shivaram, a likely candidate for the elections. The reason for the attack is yet to be ascertained.
However, preliminary investigations confirmed that the group got information that Kumar was distributing some material which could have hampered their chances of victory in the elections.
An assault case has been registered at Ulsoor Gate police station.
