More than 50 women from Lakshmisagar protested with empty pots and buckets condemning the irregular water supply.

The only borewell which is situated in the village is not enough to supply water for the entire village people. If it gets defunct, then the problem will further increase, they said. “We have been collecting water from a distance of three km”, they said condemning the apathy of the elected representatives.

It is the primary duty of the local administration to supply water regularly, but it seems that the gram panchayat has totally forgotten its duty, the alleged.

Even after submitting memorandums to the local gram panchayats and the members, no action has been taken to solve the problem which made us come to a district centre like Malur and urge the officials to supply water, the protesters added.

Later the protesters raised slogans against the officials. Even after this, if the officials concerned do not take any action to solve the water crisis, a strong protest will be held, the villagers warned.
