AMC - City Group of Institutions was the first in the country to offer an MBA course in collaboration with a foreign university (Newport University). Founded in the year 1983, the establishment now has over 72 centres across the country offering various courses ranging from engineering to short-term diploma programmes.
Advanced Management College, set up in the year 2003, is situated on 42 acres of greenery on Banerghatta Road in Bangalore with more than 4000 students enrolled in its Computer Applications and MBA programmes. Students are admitted either through their KMAT rankings or through a management quota.
“The primary motive of AMC Engineering College is to train young men and women who are able and eager to create and put into action thought-provoking actions, methods, techniques and information,” says G S Anandan, Principal, AMC.
“As far as management education in India is concerned, what began with the objective of developing certain abilities in our students to manage affairs well, has today become an important feature in our socio economic and cultural life,” says K R Paramahamsa, Chairman, AMC Group of Institutions.
The college has expanded over the last seven years to include various new streams of engineering and management education. For example: The new courses that have been added over the years include Telecommunications and Operations management.
Advanced Management College stands tall and wide with more than four floors of classrooms, laboratories, seminar halls and workshops. The campus houses three colleges, a school, two sports grounds, a large library and hostel accommodation.
AMC places special emphasis on experiential learning in the training process. The curriculum is structured in such a way as to provide enhanced learning opportunities through cooperation with industry, business, and international experience.
AMC’s facilities and premises are testimony to the fact that paramount importance has been given to provide the best infrastructure facilities that includes spacious classrooms, seminar hall, workshops, laboratories, library, a canteen, hostel accommodation, transportation, etc.

The college annual day serves as a stage for cultural activities like dance, music, theatre and more. The management also encourages students to hone their outdoor sporting skills in cricket, hockey, volleyball and football by providing state of the art sports equipment and grounds.
Campus interviews are conducted with leading national and multi-national firms such as Infosys, Wipro, IBM, iGate, Accenture, Honeywell, HP, etc.
