10 die as lightning, rain hit Orissa

The local weather office has predicted more rain in the state during the next 24 hours as the low pressure is likely to intensify further. Fishermen in coastal districts have been advised not to venture into the sea during the next 48 hours.
 
According to reports available in the state-level disaster monitoring control room here, the ten deaths have been recorded in Khurda, Sundergarh, Keonjhar, Ganjam, Dhenkanal and Deogarh districts.

District collectors have been directed to sanction Rs 50,000 each to the family of the victims.
