Maitreyee registered a 11-9, 11-5, 7-11, 11-2 victory in the summit clash. However, Spoorthy made amends for her defeat in the Junior final by clinching the Sub-junior crown.
Maitreyee took the first two games 11-9 and 11-5 without much trouble. But Spoorthy had other ideas as she reduced the deficit by clinching the third game 11-7. Maitreyee, however, sealed the match, winning the fourth game 11-2.
Spoorthy outplayed Disha Gupta 11-7, 9-11, 11-8, 11-4 in the Sub-junior title round.
Disha had won the Cadet title on Saturday.
In the Sub-junior boys’ final, Sucheth P Shenoy, who scored a comfortable 13-11, 11-2, 11-4 win over S Neeraj Raj en route to the summit clash, warded off a stiff challenge from B Rakshith to win 11-9, 7-11, 10-12, 11-9, 12-10.
Sucheth claimed the first game 11-9 before losing the second 7-11. Rakshith then stunned his rival by pocketing the third 12-10 and went 2-1 ahead by games.
However, Sucheth grabbed the fourth 11-9 to level 2-all and then scored a hard-fought 12-10 win in the fifth game to bag the crown.
