Demand for passport office in city

Addressing a media conference here on Sunday, Khan said that people from neighbouring Hassan, Mandya, Chamarajanagar, Kodagu and even Mysore had to visit Bangalore to get their passports.

He said that even after taking an appointment at the passport office, there have been several instances in which applicants have had to return to their city to get minor mistakes corrected.

Khan said that Haj pilgrims and those applying for higher studies are facing huge problems for applying for passports.

Pointing out that the city was growing at a rapid pace, Khan urged the MPs H D Deve Gowda, H Vishwanath, R Dhruvanarayan and N Cheluvarayaswamy to put pressure on the Centre to open a passport office in the city.
