Tax evader sent to Parappana Agrahara

On Wednesday afternoon, Moore was arrested from his office by the Ashoknagar police
on charges of forgery and tax evasion. According to the police, Moore was apprehended and produced in the local court before being sent to Central Prisons, Parappana Agrahara.

Moorewas seen driving his Benz car with a fake registration number (KA-03-MB-
8388) which belonged to a 2002 model Omni owned by Indiranagar resident Keshavamurthy.

Through Mumbai port TheAustrilian has been living and working in the City since
2008. The car was brought into the country through the Mumbai port.

He was merrily plying on the Bangalore roads after evading all taxes. Vijay Kumar,
who happened to be cheated byMoore’scompany, unearthed the evasion.

Avoiding lawfulapproach “It is learnt that Moore tried to evade road tax and re-registration of the car and was trying to pass off with the Maruti Omni number plate,”
said DCP (Central), G Ramesh.

The officials claim that having to pay the costs of getting a lifetime road tax and re-registration of the Benz, running into lakhs of rupees, is the likely reason which forced him to avoid the lawful approach for registration.

According to the police,Moore had got an anticipatory bail in a different case. The victim of Moore’s real estate firm, Vijay Kumar had traced the Benz car and its antecedents before tipping off the police. Moore has been charged under Sections 423 and 368 of the CrPC for forgery and cheating.

Police are also looking into charges of duping investors.
