Here, buses never enter bus stand!

Not even a single bus enters the renovated bus stand. The Gram Panchayat has spent Rs 50,000 towards repairing the bus stand. However, the traffic problem in the town continues to be the same.

The Panchayat had resolved that buses should go to the bus stand at any cost, and had sent the resolution to the police assigning them the responsibility. The bus stand is lying unutilised for the past 6-7 years. However, the GP heads said the police have not taken any steps to see that the buses occupy the bus stand.

“The GP was earning an annual revenue of Rs 1 lakh from the hotel and shop buildings at the bus stand when it was functioning. If the bus stand gets the earlier position, the Panchayat will again earn a good revenue,” said GP member N M Harsha.
