JOIN USMallikarjun Iynapure, 45, is recuperating in a private hospital at Solapur in Maharashtra.
According to police, Shivkumar borrowed Rs 15,000 from Iynapure six months ago and promised to return the amount soon. On Sunday night, unable to bear Iynapure’s constant pestering, Shivkumar and his friends, Santosh and Omkar, who were heavily drunk, called Iynapure to a farmhouse, half a kilometre from Malchapur, tortured him for hours and cut off his penis with a ‘pakkad’ (lever).
Presuming him to be dead, the three men bit Iynapure in a bid to revive him, causing grievous injuries. Sensing trouble, the trio fled, police said. Early Monday morning, Iynapure managed to reach his house and his relatives shifted him to a government hospital. Later, he was sent to a private hospital at Solapur.
Dhanura police have arrested two of the three suspects.
