JOIN USAll set for a new start
All the association members were brimming with energy and enthusiasm on the occasion. Dressed in the designated dress code, brick red kurtas and white pyjamas, all the 35 members were eagerly looking forward for the oath-taking ceremony.
The much-awaited event began with an invocation to Lord Ganesha. Sushama Bavle, Head of the Department, welcomed the gathering and Principal K S Bharathi wished good luck to the newly-appointed association members.
The chief guest for the programme, Nirmala, Faculty of the Department of Commerce, Bangalore University delivered the inaugural address. She made the students aware of their duties, responsibilities and the career opportunities available for them. She also spoke about the strength of the Indian students and asked them to think positive. The presidential address was presented by T L Shanta, the Director of the institution.
Anjana Menon was selected as the president of ‘Akanksha’ and Sarika L D was chosen as the vice-president. Heads and members of various committees like Website Designing, Creative, Media Management and the Editorial were also introduced on the occasion. All the members took an oath and pledged to fulfil their duties and responsibilities.
Meenakshi, who is the head of Media Management Committee, said the event was quite insightful. “We had a great time on the inaugural day and we are motivated by the keynote address delivered by the chief guest. Since the college was happy with my work last year, I was chosen as the head for Media Management Committee again,” she said.
The association will be organising various inter-collegiate fests and competitions like ‘Best Business Leader’, ‘Ad-O-Mania’, ‘Mock Stock’ etc.
