Fardeen replaces Akshay Kumar

Fardeen Khan

Rumi Jaffrey is leaving no stone unturned as far as his second directorial venture, Life Partner which has been produced by the director duo Abbas-Mastan, is concerned.

Like his directorial debut God Tussi Great Ho, where he directed Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra, Life Partner also boasts of a big star cast including Govinda, Fardeen Khan, Anupam Kher, Tusshar Kapoor, Genelia D'Souza and Prachi Desai.

The film revolves around the lives of three friends and incidents post marriage in their lives.

Incidentally, Akshay Kumar was supposed to play the role of Karan, the lover boy in this film.

The character believes in love marriage and is paired opposite Genelia D’Souza.

Akshay and Rumi Jaffrey share a good rapport and their last venture together, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, was a big hit. But the actor, who had agreed to play Karan, had to pull out of Life Partner, as he had to extend his shoot for Nagesh Kuknoor’s thriller 8x10 Tasveer by almost 17 days.

But being the professional that he is, Akshay called Rumi and expressed his regrets and was replaced by Fardeen Khan.

Since there are more films planned by Rumi Jaffrey, we are sure Akshay will have a chance to work with the director soon.
