Uttanur progress impresses World Bank team

He was speaking after inspecting the watershed development programmes, rainwater harvesting projects and also the checkdams constructed around the village, under the various development projects implemented in the taluk.

He said that he had visited the Uttanur a few years back. After a gap of four years, when he visited the village for the second time, he was quite impressed by the dedication and earnest with which the projects were implemented in the village. He thanked  the keen initiative taken by the Gram Panchayat members and officers who implemented them.

Speaking on the occasion, another member of the World Bank team Pehi said that if the money sanctioned by the World Bank had been put for better use, then additional amount will be sanctioned.

He also sought complete details on the various crops cultivated by the farmers of Uttanur throughout the year.

State Watershed Officer Nagaraj, Ramachandraiah, Assistant Director Narayanappa, Munivenkatappa, Raghunatha Reddy, Gram Panchayat President Nagavenamma.Vice-President Krishnamurthy, Taluk Panchayat member Kanthamma Chowdappa were present at the inspection.

Ex-Gram Panchayat president Uttanur Shrinivas compered the programme. Gram Panchayat Secretary Basavaraj proposed a vote of thanks.
