Branch Suggestor, an online tool launched on Wednesday, promises to help students know their personality, liking and aptitude to choose the engineering discipline that best suits them.
Created with experts in psychometrics and those from engineering institutes like COEP, PICT and BITS, Pilani, the tool poses multiple choice questions to students and provides a report at the end of it, with suggestions on the best-suited engineering course.
“There are no right or wrong answers to these questions,” said Suruchi Wagh, Founder and CEO of Pune-based YourNextLeap.com, which is offering the online counselling service for the aspirants.
“The profiling is made based on the student’s perspective and at the end of it, they are told about the areas where they are strong and where they can probably make improvements.”
“This is to provide a firm and clear direction to students who are normally forced to choose their branch out of peer pressure,” Suruchi said.
“Given the long-term impact of their choice, it is important for students to enter the counselling with a clear idea of what their choice will be.” Besides, students entering engineering colleges this year, the tool would be available for those in PU classes planning to appear for entrance exams next year.
