The digital world

The show has plenty to offer for the tech-savvy and the digitally inclined, as companies like Croma, Sun Direct, HP, Canon and Samsung have set up their respective stalls.

So be it digital notebooks, or home theatre systems, electronic accessories or laptops, the visitors are ensured to find all the answers to their queries.

There are also the multi-media projectors, digital cameras, printers and the home entertainment appliances like music systems, VCD and DVD players; kitchen and domestic appliances; broadband and Internet service providers.   

The exhibitors at the show seemed happy about the response. “It’s been positive definitely,” exclaimed Murugan, a representative of Samsung. While a representative of Lenovo said, “We are hoping for things to get even better as the weekend sets in. We got an excellent response last year, when we had set up a stall here.”

One of the main attractions of the expo is the gaming zone, housing a variety of games for people of all age groups. There are animated stories and nursery rhymes for children and virtual games of tennis and bowling for the gaming freaks. “These are the remote sensor games. They provide good exercise to the body because of the hand and feet movements involved to play the game,” explained a representative of Nintendo Wii, one of the exhibitors at the gaming zone. Another interesting stall was the one set up by Gas Safe India, which was providing free LPG awareness programme to all the visitors. 

Apart from the Lifestyle Show, it was the Avenues Job Fair that occupied a prime place at the venue.

One could spot groups of impatient youngsters looking for a job of their dreams discussing their resumes and the opportunities available.

“I hope to get a job in the field of my choice — electronics,” said Santhosh, a job
aspirant.

A group of exhausted girls sat down at the first opportunity they got. “We are just tired of waiting and filling forms,” said one of them.
