Now, the taluk is set to create history again for supporting anti-graft crusader Anna Hazare. Close on the heels of Tagadur gram panchayat in Nanjangud taluk in the district, making a resolution to support the social activist, Karya gram panchayat in the same taluk has emulated it.
Addressing media here on Saturday, Karya gram panchayat president Prashanth announced that in an emergency meeting convened on August 24 it was decided to express solidarity with the cause.
Disappointed
He said that rurals are fed up of corruption and by the decision we make efforts to build a corrupt free nation, demanding for the implementation of stronger Jan Lokpal Bill which can help check corruption.
A copy of the resolution will also be forwarded to the President of India, besides Prime Minister and chairmen of both the houses in the Parliament. He appealed to the other elected bodies,especially gram panchayats to take cue of the decision.
