'Allegations against Speaker baseles'

Addressing a press meet, BJP leader Suja Kushalappa said Saritha Poonaccha had levelled false allegations against the Speaker.

Saritha had alleged that Nirmithi Kendra carries out poor quality of work. If that was the case then why she had handed over the work on Anganwadi building to Nirmithi Kendra when she was the president? Kushalappa asked. 

“Nirmithi kendra was the brain child of former chief minister S M Krishna. The kendra will be under the guidance of the Deputy Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner. The MLAs and the Zilla Panchayat can not interfere in it. A sum of Rs 50 lakh has been released for the development of pond at Reshme Hudlu. Of which, Rs 30 lakh has been released,” he added.  
Complaints

Kushalappa said as many as 42 complaints against Saritha Poonaccha has reached Lokayukta. The complaints were against misappropriation which took place when Poonaccha was the president of Taluk Panchayat. The Upa Lokayukta is likley to visit the district within two months to probe into the irregularities.

Zilla Panchayat standing committee on education and health president Kanthi Belliappa, Zilla Panchayat member Mani Nanjappa and others were present.

Cong reacts
The District Congress Committee President B T Pradeep flayed the Zilla Panchayat President for asking an elected representatives to go out of the meeting hall without listening to her.
