Address grievances

For years on end, the civic agencies have neglected the roads in Gangadharanagar, earlier called Sarakki on Kanakapura main road.

The roads from Sarakki market to Pipeline Road, Yarabnagar, where metro work is on, are posing problems for both motorists and pedestrians.

Mud roads, garbage dumps and stray dogs dot Yarabnagar. In some places, the roads double up as toilets. It is high time the authorities concerned take steps to address the grievances of the residents.

Water scarcity

We the residents of 2nd Cross, Bhuvaneshwari Nagar, Hebbal are facing an acute drinking water shortage, despite having a borewell in the vicinity. The reason being that an illegal borewell, supplying water to various apartment blocks, has drained the water table.

Motorists’ nightmare

The stretch on Jayamahal Road, from Nandidurg Road intersection to TV Tower, is a motorist's nightmare.

Craters of all sizes have been created on the roadsides and the situation worsens during rain. The BBMP should waste no time to repair the road.

K R Road needs attention

Due to the unending work on the Tagore Circle underpass, K R Road is in a pathetic condition. Vehicle-users and pedestrians bear the brunt of the slow pace of work.

There are no streetlights on the stretch, and it becomes really difficult for the people at night. We hope BBMP authorities do the needful.

Road-users’ woes

Reconstruction of shoulder drains and asphalting of roads was taken up some months ago in a portion of Someswarapura, Ulsoor, coming under Domlur ward (no. 112).

However, the work was suspended after some time. Water stagnates during rain, making it difficult for the road-users.

We request the authorities concerned to ameliorate the problems.

Restore damaged road

The Old Mangammanapalya Main Road, between Gold Hill Square and Shell petrol bunk, was dug up a few months ago to construct drains and the potholes were later filled with mud. However, water stagnates in these potholes during rain, causing problems both for motorists and pedestrians.

There are several factories here and the employees have a tough time commuting to work everyday.

We, the residents of the area, off Hosur Road near Bommanahalli, appeal to
authorities to take steps to fill the potholes and facilitate smooth flow of traffic.

Auto menace

For residents in Basavanagudi, harassment by auto drivers is an everyday affair. Not only do they refuse to ply to the destination of the commuters, but also fleece them by charging more than the meter fare.
There are also instances of the auto drivers misbehaving with the passengers and using abusive language.
We request the RTO authorities to take necessary action at the earliest.

Illegal water connections

We, the residents of Chikkanna Layout 3rd cross, were getting regular water supply till March, 2009. But, of late, water is supplied only on Mondays and Fridays, that too for a few hours. The reason is inadequate water supply due to illegal connections. A few houses draw water from the pipeline through motor pumps, thus depriving water to others. We are forced to buy water paying Rs 300 to Rs 500 per tanker. I request BWSSB officials to take action against those who draw water illegally from the supply line.

Clear garbage dumps

Garbage is dumped by residents right in front of our house, #941, 23rd main, 38th cross, 4th ‘T’ Block, Jayanagar. Even the BBMP personnel who collect garbage door-to-door dump it right in front of our house. There is a transformer nearby and the area around it is converted into a public toilet. We appeal to the authorities concerned to prevent people from dumping garbage in front of our house.

Unruly auto drivers

Autorickshaw drivers plying in the area near the HMT watch factory, from Bell Circle to Dasarahalli, often behave rudely with passengers. They refuse to operate the fare meters, thus fleecing the passengers. None of the agencies, the Transport Department and Traffic Police, take action against the erring auto drivers. I appeal to the officials to do the needful to discipline the auto drivers.

Funds going down the drain

Bangalore Mahanagara Palike gives permission to construct houses only after collecting water connection fees.

Many people, including me, have paid more than Rs 10,000, inclusive of fine, in the last few years.

Where has all this money gone? When will the Cauvery water be provided to our area by BWSSB?

One hell of a road

The 4th main road in Kuvempunagar, ward no 11, is becoming narrower by the day. The road  is a key arterial road. A few stretches on both sides of the road are used for dumping construction material or debris.

Also, much of the road is strewn with cow dung, resulting in a foul smell. The ongoing UGD work has worsened the problem.

Will the BBMP clear the garbage and asphalt the road at the earliest?
