“I am feeling confident about my bowling at the moment. In the last two games, I got wickets in my very first over, and when you get early wicktes, as a bowler, your confidence will go up,” Tsotsobe said.

However, the South African pacer said the team needed to improve further before the next matches against Kolkata Knight Riders and Somerset. “Two successes in as many matches have given the team a lot of confidence. Those results have given us early momentum in the tournament, and we need to keep that going. As a team, I won’t say we are playing at our 100 percent, but we are very happy about where we are at present. Hope we can improve a lot more,” he said.

Tsotsobe attributed his early success to finding the right approach to bowl on Indian pitches. “You can’t come to India with the notion that pitches are slow here, you need to find an approach that suits the conditions here. I found that hitting the deck will yield some results in these pitches. In that sense, the World Cup was a good experience for me to understand the conditions here,” he said.

Coming from the South African winter, Tsotsobe said the Warriors didn’t find it tough to adjust to the hotter climate in India.

“We have places like this in South Africa, so adapting to these conditions was not an issue for us,” he said.

Tsotsobe added that an extended break before their game against Knight Riders on Friday will not affect the team’s momentum. “We have good vibes within our team. So I don’t think the break will affect our momentum.”
