“Owing to the efforts of Assembly Speaker K G Bopaiah and MLA Appacchu Ranjan, the state government has released funds for the last three years. This year, the government had released Rs 50 lakh. More funds will be given in the future,” he promised.

K G Bopaiah said Madikeri Dasara has its own history and rituals. People from Kerala, Tamil Nadu visit to have a glimpse of Dasara procession. In Madikeri, Dashamantapas add colour to Dasara procession. People could enjoy it as there was no rain in the region.
MLA C T Ravi said “Madikeri Dasara should not become government Dasara. It should remain as Janotsava.”
