IGNOU launches Master's in VLSI

Engineering graduates will study with working professionals at the classes between 5.30 pm and 8.30 pm during weekdays.

For the benefit of working employees, the two-year course is extendable by one more year. The objective of the programme is to produce industry-ready professionals.

High-end workforce

Speaking at the launch, K Subramaniam, Director, ACIL, IGNOU said: “We as an open university have been slow in the matter of engineering programmes. The sole purpose of this course is to create a highend workforce that will be quickly absorbed by top companies.”

The four-semester programme has been divided in such a manner that the first and the fourth semesters are taught in R V VLSI Design Centre and second, third semesters at JSS Education Centre. The fee structure is Rs 1.5 lakh per year.

IGNOU and JSS also have four more in the pipeline. An exclusive course in Cyber Forensics for which the curriculum has already been developed, and an MBA in Healthcare and Hospital Management are on the cards.
