Box containing timer and detonator found in Hospet

 A white box containing timer, detonator and cables used for explosions was found abandoned along with a pen drive near HLC canal. 

Rag pickers, who reportedly found the box near the canal had brought it to their home. It was thrown out after the parents suspected that it might contain a bomb, and police were called later.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Vijay Dambal and his team rushed to spot. Dog squad and bomb disposal squad from Bellary were immediately pressed into service. The DySP said that the box contained low intensity explosives and suspected the incident to be an act of some miscreants. Terrified public heaved a sigh of relief with the revelation that the box did not contain any explosives.
