Encroachment of Srinivaspur APMC yard surveyed: MLA

Legislator G K Venkatashiva Reddy, presiding over a function to inaugurate high mast lamp at the Agriculture Produces Marketing Committee  yard  here on Sunday,  disclosed that with the identification of encroachment, another 5.5 acre of land would be available for expansion.

Rs 5 crore plan
He further revealed that a Rs 5 crore plan has been formulated for the comprehensive development of the market and attempts were on to secure financial assistance from the government.

Stormwater drainages, weigh bridge, street lights and drinking water facility are yet to be provided properly at the yard. The minister concerned will be met in this regard, he disclosed.

Member of Legislative Council, Y A Narayanaswamy, who inaugurated the high mast lamp said that all steps will be taken to develop the Agricultural Produces Marketing Committee yard in the town as a model one. Attempts will be made to secure financial assistance under Border Taluks Development Programme to develop the market.

He suggested the Agriculture Produces Marketing Committee too should formulate and implement complementing projects, he said.

Local APMC president Meenakshamma, secretary D S Somanath, members Bandapalli Chandra Reddy, Palya Bhyra Reddy, Zilla Panchayat member G Rajanna and others were present on the occasion.
