NSUI charges VC with exam irregularity

Last Updated 04 November 2011, 20:37 IST

The NSUI members, who met Governor H R Bhardwaj on Friday demanding a high-level probe into the malpractice, claimed that they had videgraphed the incident wherein an answer script of a student was sent home late at night to answer questions which were not attended in the examination hall. NSUI State president Mahesh Ravanikar said the incident would not have been possible without the involvement of the top officials of the varsity.

Ravanikar said he was tipped off by a few students about the malpractice and decided to carry out a ‘sting operation.’ They sent two students of SSMRV College to approach middlemen who demanded Rs 10,000 from each. They collected hall ticket numbers and other details of the students and asked them to arrive at a house at night. The students were given their answer scripts to attempt unattended questions with the support of study materials.
