It was a visual treat for the fashionistas in the City on Friday. The event also saw the work of one of Europe’s most successful make-up artists, Diego Schober and had who’s who of the City troop in wearing their most colourful costumes.

Day one showcased the collections by designers like Sanchita, Inmark, Manoviraj Khosla, Jason and  Anshu, Nimirta, Yashila, Sneha, Calanthia and the Maharaja of Mysore. Most of the collections comprised men’s and women’s swimwear, evening wear and party wear, with a variety of colours, styles, and accessories to enhance the look. Lawman Pg3 also launched its new denims range.

People hung in twos and threes and seemed to thoroughly enjoy the show. Lakshmi Sheshadri, who was excited about the fashion show said, “I was looking forward to seeing Sanchita, Manoviraj Khosla and Raj Shroff's collections. I’ve seen them at other fashion weeks and they really know their job.” She added, “I wanted a good party wear and Sanchita had some very wearable pieces in her collection. I can’t wait to go shopping.”

Some of the designers like Nimarta Lalwani chose a very delicate theme and others, like Jason and Anshu, made their collection appear very quirky. Talking about his collection, Manoviraj said, “I chose a party wear collection, with a lot of texture on the fabrics. The colours range from whites and greys to off-whites and bright colours, and finishes off with a range in black.” He added, “In the men’s wear, we have focussed on bags and footwear while not much accessorising has been done for the women.”

All in all, it was an event that everybody present seemed to thoroughly enjoy, be it for its foot-tapping music played for the ramp walk or for sheer love of the clothes that were showcased.
