Chromebook shipment in India likely in 2012: Google

Chromebook, its popular notebook product, would move into its next-gen version in 2012 and it is also likely that the company would start shipments of the notebook to India in 2012, said Senior Vice-President (Chrome and Apps) Sundar Pichai.

OEM partners

Regarding OEM partners like Samsung with whom Google has partnered to create Chromebook, he said the company has been “opinionated” in its choice. “You will see more partners in future, but we’re selective in OEM partners since we look at giving the overall experience of using ChromeOS,” he said.

Pichai, the man in-charge of Google’s popular consumer products like Chrome, Google Docs and Gmail also put a positive spin on the decline of Google Buzz, saying that it was a starting point from where the company learnt about social networking.
