Addressing an arecanut plants distribution programme organised at K Hosur village here on Wednesday, he said the project is emphasising on community development, academic progress, development in health and agricultural fields.
Agriculture equipment have been distributed to 900 SHGs so far, he informed.
Assistant Horticulture Officer Renukaradhya said Assam was leading in areca crop in the previous but now Karnataka stands first. One can get more yield in plains than in Malnad areas, he observed.
State Bank of India Manager Krishna who distributed the plants assured that the bank will give loans to the beneficiaries of the SKDRDP.
Bettadahalli Gram Panchayat President Venkatesh, Government School Head Master Manjunath, Lakshmikanth, Chandrashekhar and Chidanand were present.
