Evening drizzle also contributed to the slow movement of the vehicles.
Traffic was afffected in and around Majestic area, Mysore Road, Kanakapura Road, Rajajinagar, Yeshwanthpura, KR Puram Road and Sarjapura Road. "It took one hour to reach Navarang junction from Kempe Gowda bus stand," a passenger travelling by a Hubli bus told Deccan Herald.
Traffic police expressed their helplessness, saying that the situation will not improve unless roads are widened. "We did our best to ensure smooth traffic flow by deploying additional traffic policemen. The rain towards the evening adversely affected our efforts. The situation was back to normalcy by 11 pm," added the police.
