BSY, ministers spent Rs 9 cr on travel

The information has been furnished by the principal secretary to Bhimappa Gundappa Gadad,  a social activist in Belgaum, in reply to his application under the Right to Information Act.

Yeddyurappa has drawn the maximum of Rs 45,85,419 as TA, including Rs 18,14,790 in 2008-09; Rs 6,86,652 in 2009-10; Rs 15,21,806 in 2010-11; and Rs 5,62,252 in 2011-12.
G Janardhana Reddy, then Tourism minister, stood last in the list by claiming only Rs 4,13,300, and Shobha Karandlaje, then Rural Development and Panchayat Raj minister had claimed Rs 12,60,675. 

The TA claimed by other ministers (with their portfolio during the said period) are as follows:
K Shivanagouda Naik (Library), Rs 44,85,160; V S Acharya (Home), Rs 44,03,425; Murugesh Nirani (Industry), Rs 41,71,953; J Krishna Palemar (Ports), Rs 38,61,594; Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri (Primary and Secondary Education), Rs 36,11,477; C M Udasi (Public Works), Rs 34,34,787; Govind Karjol (Minor Irrigation), Rs 32,08,395; and Ravindranath (Agriculture), Rs 25,38,541.
