Exposing film award functions

One should have seen this coming when Ashutosh Gowariker publicly challenged Priyanka Chopra’s win as the Best Female Actor for Fashion over Aishwarya Rai for Jodhaa Akbar at the IIFA this year. So before his Neil Nitin Mukesh starrer Jail gets released, Madhur Bhandarkar, the director of Fashion has already planned out his next film, which is going to be a close comment on how the whole awards’ business works in Bollywood.

And being an insider, he will have first hand information on all that goes into the making of an award function. Anybody sweating already?

The film is titled Award and sources say this one will also feature Priyanka Chopra in the lead role nearly showing that the director wants to get back at Gowariker.
