Bahujan Samaj Party MP Ambeth Rajan’s iPad was stolen from his official residence in the Capital, police said on Sunday.

The Uttar Pradesh leader, Rajan, lodged a complaint about the theft in Parliament Street police station on Saturday, they said.

The Rajya Sabha member, a resident of North Avenue, found on Saturday, at around 11:00 am, that his personal iPad issued from Raja Sabha Secretariat was stolen, police said.

“In the morning at 10:10 am I had used the iPad to sent an email. After that I went to the backside of my house for half an hour to see the ongoing repair work. Some officials from Central Public Works Department visited to check the repair work and left after few minutes.

One of my staff and driver were also present there during that time,” said Rajan.

Police have registered a case under section 380 (theft) of Indian Penal Code. “No arrest has been made so far. We are investigating the matter and questioning all the people who visited the house during that period,” said a senior police officer.
