Four more districts under Horticulture Mission

 
Besides, it has been decided to set up mega markets at four more places in Mangalore, Mysore, Gulbarga and Bijapur. The Government has already announced setting up mega markets in Shimoga, Belgaum, Hassan and Kolar, Horticulture Minister Umesh Katti said.

The minister took these decisions after holding a meeting with the officials at Vidhana Soudha on Friday. Each of these markets costs Rs 100 crore. The aim is to ensure that farmers sell their horticulture produce in these markets. He said a plan is on the cards to set up a Wine Park in Bijapur at the cost of Rs 100 crore. The proposal will be prepared and sent to the Centre for its approval, he added.
