International Federation of Karnataka Christian Association, chairman Ronald Colaco has said that not much of Rs 50 crore allocated to the Christian Development Council by the State government, has reached the beneficiaries.

Addressing a gathering at the Federation Day award ceremony of the Konkani Catholic Association here on Sunday, he appealed to Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda to ensure that the funds be utilised for the development of Christian institutions. Gowda promised funds for welfare of catholics, on the occasion.

Considering the busy schedule of the chief minister, Ronald urged Gowda to handover the charge of the chairmanship of the Christian Development Council to a Catholic of his choice. He appealed to the chief minister to withdraw cases against “innocent” Christian youth involved in the Mangalore church attack. “In two cases of Ullal and Bantwal, at least a dozen Christian youth have been wrongfully charged. The CM must withdraw cases against these youths,” he urged.

On the occasion, Life Time Achievement award was presented to Eric Alexander Ozario, a composer and activist.
