Former Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi says he will take over his daughter Barbara's job as chairman of his AC Milan soccer team.

"Maybe by the next board meeting in April," he said Thursday, following Milan's 4-0 rout of Arsenal. "My daughter Barbara is pushing me in this direction and I don't think you can say no to a daughter."

Twenty-seven-year-old Barbara Berlusconi was named AC Milan chairwoman in April. She also sits on the board of Berlusconi investment company Fininvest.

Silvio Berlusconi made his fortune first in Milan real estate and then in television broadcasting which made him a billionaire and one of Italy's richest people.
He bought the Serie A soccer squad in 1986.

Berlusconi resigned as Italian prime minister in November amid scandal and an economic crisis.
