<p>Demanding salary and other benefits on a par with teachers in general schools, they will be holding a protest in the city on the day. The teaching and non-teaching staff in such schools will stage the protest under the banner of Karnataka State Association for Special Educators and Supportive Staff. <br /><br />About 1,500 teachers and 3,000 non-teaching staff have been working in 120 private special schools being run by various non-government organisations in the State. <br />Specially trained teachers have been working in these schools for salary of Rs 2,800 per month.<br /><br />Hanumanthappa Jadar, association state convener said for many years the Association had been demanding hike in salary for the staff. The association had decided to hold a dharna in front of the CM’s residence on Teachers’ Day, he added.</p>
