JOIN USDemanding salary and other benefits on a par with teachers in general schools, they will be holding a protest in the city on the day. The teaching and non-teaching staff in such schools will stage the protest under the banner of Karnataka State Association for Special Educators and Supportive Staff.
About 1,500 teachers and 3,000 non-teaching staff have been working in 120 private special schools being run by various non-government organisations in the State.
Specially trained teachers have been working in these schools for salary of Rs 2,800 per month.
Hanumanthappa Jadar, association state convener said for many years the Association had been demanding hike in salary for the staff. The association had decided to hold a dharna in front of the CM’s residence on Teachers’ Day, he added.
