2 Naxals surrender in Gadchiroli

Two Naxals, including a woman, have surrendered before the Gadchiroli police. Police identified them as Somi alias Nirmala Lalu Kulmethe (25) and Jagat alias Sukhram Sonu Madavi (19) on Sunday. Both had surrendered on Saturday.

According to the police, Somi became a Naxal in 2000, and worked with Aheri, Bhamragarh, Kohkaneta (Chhattisgarh) 'dalams' or groups of the ultras over the last decade.

Jagat was an active Naxal since 2000, and worked in Chhattisgarh. Both of the them were involved in a number of crimes and taught in schools run by Naxals in Chhattisgarh, police said. More Naxals may surrender soon, police said.
