Speaking to presspersons, he said the contract has been given to Binyas Contak. The work will be completed by March end. He said Kadur-Mangalore road are is in deplorable condition. A proposal for Rs 160 crore has been submitted to KRDCL. If the State government gives Rs 48 crore, the work will commence. Government has not taken any decision on widening of Indira Gandhi road in the city. A proposal of Rs 8.50 crore has been sent to the government. The district administration plans to widen the road by 18 metres.

The DC said there is no scarcity of fertilisers in Narasimharajapura. The district has received 2,500 tonne potash. The fertiliser has been distributed among the private sellers and co-operative socities. There is shortage of Suphala owing to its less production.

He said a proposal to set up state police training centre, skill development training centre and eco tourism at Kudremukh has been submitted to the government.
