The Mangalore airport has secured OHSAS:18001-2000 certification by Giant Accreditation Board of Australia and New Zealand, Australia, on Monday.
The recognition comes for the Airport’s Occupational Health and Safety Management System.
Mangalore Airport is the first to get the recognition in entire South India.
Airport Director M R Vasudeva said the certification will be valid till March 10, 2015. The certification agency had visited the airport twice before conferring the certificate.
