<p>Terming the UPA II one of the worst governments the country has ever seen, the CPM on Monday said that the Congress-led government should be held responsible for inflation and skyrocketing prices.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Addressing a gathering, the party General Secretary Prakash Karat said there was no difference between the Congress and the BJP, saying both parties indulged in “corrupt practices”.<br /><br />He was addressing a convention on “Price Rise and Corruption” organised by the JD-S to commemorate 50 years in Legislature of its president and former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda.<br /><br />“If poor are suffering in the country due to high inflation and the UPA-II government is alone to be blamed for this. The wrong policy adopted by the Centre has caused high inflation,” he <br />alleged.<br /><br />Gowda accused the Congress of “going back” on its promise of providing reservation to Muslims and termed it as “unfortunate”.</p>
