JOIN USTerming the UPA II one of the worst governments the country has ever seen, the CPM on Monday said that the Congress-led government should be held responsible for inflation and skyrocketing prices.
Addressing a gathering, the party General Secretary Prakash Karat said there was no difference between the Congress and the BJP, saying both parties indulged in “corrupt practices”.
He was addressing a convention on “Price Rise and Corruption” organised by the JD-S to commemorate 50 years in Legislature of its president and former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda.
“If poor are suffering in the country due to high inflation and the UPA-II government is alone to be blamed for this. The wrong policy adopted by the Centre has caused high inflation,” he
alleged.
Gowda accused the Congress of “going back” on its promise of providing reservation to Muslims and termed it as “unfortunate”.
