Begging punishment; father skips inquiry

Prakash alias Prabhu accused of forcing his daughter into begging recently, on Friday failed to appear before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) for inquiry.

Sources told Deccan Herald, Prakash cited health reasons for his inability to depose for the enquiry. Instead he sought another day to appear, and accordingly, he has been summoned to appear on April 3. The committee has already completed the inquiry of the 13-year-old daughter of the accused who is inclined to join her father. She is provided shelter at Juvenile Girls Home on Lalita Mahal road.

Prakash and his friend Asha had been arrested by Jayalakshmipuram police on March 26 in regard to the incident.

Boy’s case

In another incident, where a nine-year-old boy was rescued by Nazarbad police after he was forced out of the house by his mother, the CWC recorded statement of the latter on Friday.

Razia alias Rajeshwari has shunted out her son, to live with her paramour Yogesh. During inquiry, the mother changed her tune, willing to take her son back home, not acceptable to the boy. Following this, the boy has been sent to Bapuji Children’s Home, while Yogesh has been summoned for inquiry on April 3.

Drawing camp

Drawing camp is organised by JSS Mahavidyapeetha from April 2 to 22 at premises of JSS Balajagath school, according to a press release.

Children from first standard to 10th can participate in the camp. Students will be provided with drawing sheets but have to carry other necessary items on their own.
