Man 'raped' daughter for 14 yrs

Bishnumohan Panda, a resident of Rajgurupur village has already been sent to judicial custody after a local court rejected his bail plea. The police have framed charges against him under sections 376, 323 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) after filing an FIR on the basis of a complaint filed by the man’s 32-year-old daughter.

In her written complaint, she has alleged that her father had been raping her repeatedly since she was in school. She had opposed him a number of times but in vain. He had threatened  her with dire consequences if she disclosed the matter to anybody. She, in fact, had got pregnant by her father several times and had to abort her pregnancy. As per the FIR, the man had got the daughter married to a poor man so that she could continue to live with him and satisfy his sexual urge.

The matter came to light recently when she finally gathered courage and revealed her ordeal to some of the villagers who helped her in filing the police complaint and getting the man arrested.
