45 selected for Kempegowda award

 As many as 45 Bangaloreans who have contributed to the development of society will be conferred Kempegowda award for the year 2011-2012.

The award, which includes citation and purse of Rs 25,000, will be presented at a function on April 6. The awardees are:

Social work: M K Ramappa, K T Chandru, M Kashi, C S Radhakrishna, B M Ramaiah, H Kondanda Ramaiah, Master Nataraj and P K Pal.

Sports: Raghu, wrestler Mohammed Fayaz Ahmed, A V Srinivas Gowda, Poorvitha S Ram, Ramachandra Rao Sudhakar, Dhanalakshmi SP, Prof M J Sundar Ram, N Vajrappa, and Master Nikhil.
Education: Dr Patil Ahmed Iliyaz and R Jain Raj, president, Jain Education Society.

Medical: Dr T H Anjanappa and Dr M Jagadish.

Theatre and Television: S Raju, Shankar Bhat and N Munikempanna.

Environmentalist: R Chandrashekar.

Child prodigy: Poojitha, Diya and Sohan Rajshekhar.

Cultural Music: Chinthapalli Asthana Vidwan Srinivas, Dr Suparna Ravishankar and V M Ramaiah.
Vaasthu Specialist: Ramesh Kamat.
